Early Outline

Scene 1 - Claire's Dream

It begins with a dream sequence. We see waves crashing against rocks and then wrapping around someone's feet. The music is peaceful and serial and the sound effects are quite.

Scene 2 - Car Journey

Claire wakes up in the car next to John who is speaking to someone on his bluetooth earpiece. The sound of the car humming is loud as if ringing in Claire's ears. The trees cast shadows on Claire's face as they zoom past. She pressing the button John’s earpiece causing it to hang up on the person. He is annoyed but isn’t mad. They talk for a bit and he tells her that they are near Port Talbot. She asks him to turn into the town.

Scene 3 - The Plaza

They are standing across the road looking up at the plaza cinema. They are shocked to see that it has been abandoned. They chat about going there as children and about the graffiti.

Wants: To provide a life for the two that is free of stress about money.

    • My Definition: “Psychogeography is how places have an effect on us emotionally and behaviorally”.

    • Believes that ‘psychogeography’ is used for many different things.

    • Rebecca Solint is an essayist, an art critic, an environmentalist, a political activist.

    • VERY OPTIMISTIC She believes it is not particularly philosophy, rather a sense of wonder, an open mind and the capacity to see and feel more than just what can be labelled or defined

    • Will Self is an author, known, amongst other things, for his ‘psychogeography’ column in the Independent newspaper.

    • Will Self has quite an opposite viewpoint

    • Will Self writes about his effort to integrate his two geographical psyches, one in South London, his ‘home base’, and the other in his mother’s home town of New York City.
